Gala Mexican - San Rafael

We ordered a shrimp soup that was lacking in flavor and had green bell peppers that overwhelmed the dish. The tacos were bland and unappealing. The shrimp cocktail was also tasteless. Overall, the food was not good.

This place comes highly recommended by Rigoberto Muñoz on Facebook. The service is excellent and they have a great reputation for perfectly roasting their food.

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2001 or 2002, and it has always been delicious! The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

I would give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could! The restaurant is under new ownership, and I made the drive all the way from Hayward for the second weekend in a row. The staff is super friendly, the food came out quickly and you could tell it was all fresh. My favorite Mexican restaurant by far! I ordered menudo, my boyfriend got nachos de al pastor, and the kids got nachos and more menudo. The hand-made tortillas were delicious and they gave us a generous portion of carne. We also took a torta de milanesa to go - the food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming.

I decided to give this restaurant another try after a disappointing meal on our last visit. I noticed that there is a new owner with much improved food. I ordered the breaded steak and my girlfriend got the shrimp cocktail. Both dishes were delicious and full of flavor. I highly recommend this place!
