Bidrage med feedbackThe food here is astonishingly good and good for you! Mostly gluten-free and lactose-free, with plenty of vegan options, you will never miss what's "missing". Chef Alfonso is a culinary genius, trained in Europe, with roots in Oaxaca. Your taste buds will sing, your body will feel marvelous, and your spirits will soar when you eat at Alfonso's Salsabor. I brought a group of friends here for dinner and we all loved the food (and the chef) so much we signed up for his next cooking class. This is not just another Mexican restaurant or cooking class. And by the way, according to my chef friends in Mexico, the diet of indigenous pre-Hispanic Mexicans was predominantly vegetarian/vegan. Alfonso has turned it into an art form.
You will get a special meal at this chef owned restaurant. Chef Alfonso Lopez de Anda combines family and indigenous Oaxacan recipes. We had the special chicken soup of the day, a chicken mole dish, a Oaxacan "pizza", a rich and tender beef dish and a special dessert.NOTE: The restaurant has moved. It is NOT on Callejon Del Palmer. We love this place and bring friends here whenever we can. This is prehispanic soul food. Ancient recipes with the freshest healthiest ingredients. Chef Alfonzo is moving soon, I think to colonia San Antonio so watch for new address!
