Made In Italy - San Mateo

Beautiful Italian cuisine. the service was fantastic by the owners of man and woman. we were not rushed and enjoyed the culinary experience.

If you are looking for authentic Napoletana pizza, Made in Italy is the pizzeria to visit. The dough was light and crispy, burrata creamy and the sauce made with sweet San Marzano tomatoes. Molto bene! Also try the polpette di carne, soft meatballs served with sauce sprinkled with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. A wedge of baked pizza dough was served alongside so you could dunk into the sauce to get the last drop! For dessert, the Nutella pizza was the perfect end to our dinner. Creamy melted Nutella on their wonderful pizza crust sprinkled with powdered sugar. Some ingredients, buffala mozzarella, proscutto di Parma, San Mazano tomatoes, caputo flour are imported from Italy. In my opinion, that is what makes the food so delicious. I highly recommend, visiting this pizzeria next time you are wanting pizza. One solution to a comment that wanted additional salt on the pizza, ask for additional Parmesan grated over the pizza. The food is authentic, fresh, and well prepared with attentive service. The wine list is not long but features a decent variety of quite good Italian California wines. The decor is like a neighborhood bar ristorante, not fancy. I liked that a lot and will definitely return.

There was no table for us when we arrived. We sat at the bar, waiting, yet it would have been nice to have a complimentary glass of wine. The meatball appetizer was tepid and should have been hotter, still, it was delicious.Pizza was very good. Better cutting utensils/table knives would be helpful. The dining experience is diminished when one has to saw through pizza crust. Or the pizza comes completely sliced from the kitchen another alternative for easier dining

Wonderful experience the food, service, wine recommendation from start to finish. Love their spicy broccoli rab, sausage pizza unbelievably delicious I am getting hungry just thinking about it! The Nutella pizza for dessert is a must so good. It is our favorite restaurant for pizza in San Mateo the owner and wait staff are the absolute best.
