Tonita's Mexican Food - San Luis Obispo

The experience was disappointing, particularly due to the inadequate customer service from the person taking our order. It was clear they needed training in basic customer interaction. When our food arrived, the rice was overcooked and clumped together, the beans were lukewarm, and the chicken taco was also cold and tasted strange. Since we were the only customers in the restaurant, there was no excuse for the food being served at such a low temperature. We barely touched our meals. I took our plates to the counter to express our dissatisfaction, but the staff member seemed indifferent to our concerns. Having enjoyed many Mexican meals in the past, we both agreed that this was the worst we've ever had. I really don't understand how this place has received five-star ratings.

Absolutely the worst experience! This is hands down the most disappointing Mexican food I've ever had. It's surprising to see so many positive reviews for this place. We spent nearly $40 on greasy, tasteless dishes. There are plenty of other dining options in SLO, and as a tourist, I recommend dining somewhere else.

I chose this restaurant based on positive reviews and claims of generous portion sizes, but unfortunately, the burrito I received was not only tasteless but also small and poorly wrapped. I hate to leave a negative review—it’s not my usual style—but I was let down by the food quality, customer service, and overall experience. This was such a disappointment that my wife and I ended up throwing the meal away and going elsewhere to eat. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food and a good dining experience, I recommend you steer clear of this place. However, if you're in the mood for overpriced, greasy food, this could be the spot for you.

I haven't had anything from here yet, and they've seen me two or three times a week since I've been dressed so close. Consistently good and fast food with friendly staff I would highly recommend. I get my post mountain bike ride every Thursday night. Salsa Bar also strikes.

As a taco lover it was a pleasure. Carne asada had no ton of taste, but with the and the green sauce it was great. The chips were delicious, light and crispy. The BBQ adobado street taco was delicious. Beautiful food on the terrace overlooking the Bach area and busy shopping area.
