Bidrage med feedbackSmelly, Noisy Dump The only okay thing about this place is the geographic location. I barely got any sleep because there is a loud and pervasive hum and vibration from equipment on the roof cycling on and off every few minutes. The tone of it was so intense, I could literally feel it in my heart. (In addition to that disturbance, my A/C wasn 't working and my room smelled of mildew so I had the windows open. At 6 am someone fired up their leaf blower, this happened both mornings. I spoke with the concierge about the noise and vibration from the mechanicals and he apologized and said he had heard the same thing from other guests and they would be looking into it. I told him if it wasn 't going to be fixed, I didn 't know if I could complete my stay there as I couldn 't sleep. He said he completely understood. In addition to the mechanical issues, there is a constant din of delivery trucks banging around as The Granada is the only enterprise facing a street that is basically an alley for deliveries for the mall on the other side. The hotel does have a nice terrace, with a view of a Bank of America ATM and a bunch of business 's back doors. The food at their restaurant was mediocre, service, the same. The staff looks like they just rolled out of bed. I 'm pretty sure they purposely installed the dimmest lighting possible everywhere so they don 't have to actually clean the place or iron their clothes. Seriously, make sure your phone is charged at all times because you have to light your own way through this dismal, dusty, 15 watt disaster of a hotel. Couldn 't sleep the second night so I asked to check out a day early. They refused to refund me for the last night for our two rooms even though they knew there was a mechanical issue disrupting many guests ability to sleep, which is the primary purpose of renting a hotel room, no? Anyway, they suck, stay away, it 's a smelly, noisy dump. The place has the feel of a bunch of drunk 20 year olds who said hey gang, let 's run a wacky hotel together . Oh, and the faucet handle fell off my sink and you have to carry around the most ridiculous bulky key with a gross tassel on it that looks like it hasn 't been cleaned since the place was a bordello during the gold rush. Blech. Don 't waste your time or money.
The hotel is superb! For the price, you cannot beat this boutique hotel! The building has a rich history, the rooms are exquisitely appointed and quaint, and the bistro and bar downstairs is on point! I love this place!
The hotel and staff were simply amazing here. All of them. We only got to enjoy one day and night, but the bar and food and room and location were truly an escape from everyday life on a road trip from SF to LA and such a refreshing change from the other nice big box hotels. You can't go wrong to stay here....Incredible.
The brunch at the Bistro was excellent. The steak deviled egg is a must try. The French toast was decadent- not too sweet but definitely rich. The sweet potato and chorizo hash substituted chorizo with chicken) was excellent and the wagyu was good. Cute outdoor seating and great service!
I came here for my 24th birthday for some drinks and loved the ambience: kinda cozy and quiet with an old school vibe. The drinks were delicious and the bartender was very friendly. The drinks are around $14 but that's pretty normal for this area, and the drinks are tasty and pretty strong. When I'm back in town I'd stop by for a drink here again and maybe check out the restaurant too for a date night.
