Bidrage med feedbackI lived in the East Bay for a long time before Covid and have had Porque No on my Yelp bookmarks from when they were a humble pop up in search of a permanent venue. So I'm pleased to see that they've not only survived Covid, but have also found physical space inside Frank's, a San Leandro sports bar. As a longtime California resident who's found that tacos and Mexican fare are seriously underwhelming in New England and the Northeast, it was great to come back for the good stuff. Two super tacos were more than enough to fill me up after a whole day's worth of foodie adventures, with the underlying meats grilled steak and cabeza, if I remember correctly proving irresistibly juicy, savory, and well marinated. An delightful mess when topped with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese with the tortilla itself lightly fried. There's so much more on the menu that I'd love to try, whether their quesadillas, tortas, or breakfast options. Maybe I'll have to fly back to the Bay Area more often. For now, here's to PQN's continued success!
We were so excited to try this place out. But sadly ended up disappointed. First, our food took over 40 min for our to-go order and the place wasnt even packed. When asked about status, twice was told it was next. Then the food. We ordered a shrimp and a pastor burrito. The burritos felt like a lb each but 85% of it was rice. I literally counted 4 shrimp and the rest rice. The pastor had very little meat as well and was basically sprinkled in the all rice burrito. The chicken taco/ strips were also dry. The one item we did like was the carne asada. That was flavorful. Seems like many like this place and the vibe of the environment seemed cool but for us food was just meh.
SO GOOD! Everything was !! All the food and the horchata (not pictured) exceeded my expectations. I knew this place was going to be good based on all the pics, I scoped this place out before I came here, so pleasantly surprised that was even better than I thought it would be. Service was good and restaurant was clean too. Would definitely come back!
Brought the family here to try something new. Took some nachos home from this spot. Shrimp nachos to be exact! Nachos were delicious. We also had an order of chicken quesadillas a carne asada burrito! Happy to say that the family was content full with their food!
