While this is understandable—everyone has off days—there were more problems ahead. He returned to tell us that the porterhouse was $45. When I asked about its weight, he told me it was 16 ounces, which seemed reasonable for such a large cut, so I ordered it cooked medium rare. We also ordered calamari as an appetizer and requested that everything come out at once. The calamari arrived slightly earlier, but that wasn’t an issue. The main complaint was the porterhouse; it was neither 16 ounces nor appropriately thick. At its thickest, it measured maybe half an inch, with some parts even thinner. A proper porterhouse should be around 1.25 inches thick; even the USDA specifies this. Without the bone, I might have mistaken it for a cut of veal. Due to its thinness, it was cooked medium well instead of medium rare, and it also had several tough spots of gristle. In summary, the steak was too thin, not correctly trimmed, and well below the expected quality for a porterhouse at this price. As for the calamari, priced at $22, the portion size was modest and could have been larger. I find it hard to understand the high ratings and pricing at this restaurant given the mediocre service, food quality, and portion sizes.
The Italian food here is genuinely authentic, and the service is excellent. It's a lovely venue to enjoy time with family and friends. Kelly provided outstanding service! Food rating: 5/5.
I had a fantastic dining experience thanks to Dylan's excellent service! I ordered the carbonara but opted for linguine instead of spaghetti and requested no peas, which is my personal preference. It was absolutely delicious. The Caesar salad was fresh and also very good. I would definitely recommend this place! Food: 5/5
