Bidrage med feedbackLarge ceviche and fish tacos you need to try their special house salsa, very unique and delicious! A perfect bite if you landed and want to stand for lunch before you go to Cabo Pulmo.
Do not miss the fact that you fill your belly under the Evaristo Hermanos ' enormous Palapa on Highway 1 (the Transpeninsular near San José del Cabo Airport). If you travel north on Highway 1, it is the first left after the entrance to the airport (obvily,... the reverse when you come from the opposite direction! A bit hidden behind some bushes between the parking lot and the highway, there is a large painted sign that reads MARISCOS. There is a gravel road parallel to the highway that leads you to the parking lot. If you like freshly prepared plentiful portions of fish tacos, ceviche, seafood cocktails and plates, this authentic local gastronomy will make you very happy. Most plates are accompanied by a salad, rice and beans. Once your order is taken, your appetite is served with a delicious, complementary well seasoned seafood broth in a polyfoam cup along with tostadas and tortilla chips accompanied by a house salsa. My husband never misses a spicy coctel de pulpo (octopus , served in a massive goblet a Baja California classic. My only caution is that salads are dressed either with mayonnaise or a filled creamy césar. When I asked if they had an olive oil to mix with the juice, I could squeeze from one of the many limes on the table, I was told that they only aceite, the essentially ordinary edible vegetable oil I had agreed to. Imagine my surprise when the waitress brought a little plastic container from what was obviously already used vegetable oil that I suspect she expected to reuse as a salad dressing! She looked confused when I turned it off and said that they had already used all the vegetable oil that was delivered this morning! Not really my idea of a citrus vinaigrette! That's why Evaristo Hermonos receives 4 stars instead of 5 of me!
We wandered in off the street and discovered this amazing little restaurant. My husband had fish tacos and I had shrimp tostadas, and that might be one of the best meals we have ever had on this planet. They also apparently excel at sashimi, so for those of you that like that, you might want to try it. The service was fantastic, they do have English on the menu and if you stumble over what you want, the chefs can come out and help, as they both speak very good English. They are almost exactly across the street from Wal-Mart in San Jose, and the restaurant is a welcome shaded reprieve from the sun. If you are looking for an excellent fresh fish taco for a really reasonable price, then please do yourself a favour and try this place. We will be back numerous times on this vacation, for sure. If we could rate it higher than a 5, we would!
We had dinner at Tony's on January 30, 2017. The place is cute, un-pretentious and very clean, semi open air, roofed and appears family run. Located just 1 bloc north of Wall Mart, on the West side of the road. Tony's is well located and the bus stop is right across the restaurant, the first stop north of Wall Mart.. I had my mind set on a dish not on the menus, fried squid. No problem, in a short time a lovely fried squid dish was custom cooked for me. Joyce had a menue item, taco shell with fresh tuna, avocado. I had a lovely drink of the day with a hint of cardamom, Joyce a tasty custom made variation on a Caesar without alcohol. Prices very very reasonable for this region, service very attentive, friendly and personal. We will be back.Well worth dropping into for lunch or dinner. Why 4 star and not 5 star? I never give 5 star out of principle.
What a wonderful find in San Jose del Cabo; great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices and a casual setting. The menu has lots of tasty seafood but also includes meal size salads and pasta dishes that smelled wonderful.
