Bidrage med feedbackThe food was great but it was a little expensive. The staff was amazing very helpful. The view to the pool and beach was amazing and relaxing.
This buffet at the Westin has the basics to make it a potentially good alternative if you are staying at the Westin or adjacent time share clubs---spectacular architecture of the Westin, beautiful views of the sea and pool area, classy marble floors and nice décor. Unfortunately the quality of the food is typical of a cheap Las Vegas casino. Over the years the Westin has redesigned the area and redecorated but they have failed to address the food quality. On the rare occasion we visit the buffet it is only on Saturday evening for the seafood buffet where you can have fresh grilled shrimp kabobs or lobster. This year the lobsters were the smallest I've ever seen, perhaps a size of 6 count shrimp and the restaurant was not unsurprisingly nearly empty. Unless you are stuck on campus there are many better reasonably priced alternatives in San Jose.
This might be a better place to grab a beer and snack for lunch. Our dinner wasn't impressive. My wife had Pad Thai and did not like it - no flavor and small portion. I had the prime rib which waiter boasted about. My steak was over-cooked, very thin (1/2"), very fatty and tough. The service was get you in and out as quickly as possible. They would take a plate when finished when other person was still eating. We will not eat there again and not recommend it for others for dinner.
It was a typical tropical buffet at the Westin. Even the a-la-carte food was mediocre. The Sea Bass was definitely NOT fresh catch. Grab a cab and go to Nick San or Market in SJ Del Cabo - 5 minute cab ride away - for some of the best seafood in the world. Don't waste your money here unless you're just grabbing a quick bite to eat in the hotel.
The chilaquiles, good. The sweet breads/pan dulce, surprisingly good. The make-your-own mimosas and champagne, good. Lots of fresh juices to choose from! Overpriced and typical hotel fare for dinner.
