The Fish Market San Jose

We enjoy the extensive menu and fresh fish offered at the Fish Market. A reliable restaurant for good food.

Ordered: New England clam chowder; Shrimp Tacos; scallops wrapped with prosciitto; fish and chips; shrimp and chips. Shrimp tacos were great. Fish and chips mediocre; Shrimp and chips was vey disappointing because they were over cooked. Coleslaw that accompanied the shrimp and fish dishes were dry and tasteless, almost none edible. Scallops wrapped with prosciutto looked over cooked and was over cooked. Tried to give them away, but no takers. This is my fourth visit to this establishment but yet one of the visit was fulfilling.

We had reservations but still had a long wait to be seated. We were seated in a corner away from the main crowd. Our service was not responsive and the soup took 30 minutes and was warm. Dinner took a long time and was cold when it was dropped off. When I couldn’t find our waitress I complained and the manager came to the table. We waited a long time but they finally brought another dinner. It wasn’t hot off the grill, but was warm enough. They didn’t charge us for the dinner. We won’t eat here again, it was New Years Eve and the experience was exhausting.

Thoroughly enjoy our time at The Fish Market-San Jose. Reservations were honored and service was excellent (even though it was New Year's Eve). Food delicious as well. Will surely re-visit soon. Thank you.

Even with reservations at 6:30pm and arriving 10 mins early, we were asked to wait for a table until 7pm. Once seated we waited again for someone to come by to take our order. Finally flagged a busboy to give our order. The waiter came 10 mins later to ask if we were ready to order. Food arrived 15-30 mins later. The crab dip was not good with hardly any crabmeat. The clam fettuccine was watery and no flavor. We ordered the cioppino without pasta and of course it came with pasta. We hardly found any whole pieces of seafood except for one prawn. Again taste was not good and disappointing. Will not return to this restaurant
