Rubio's Coastal Grill - San Jose

Every time I visit, the food is fresh and fantastic. They serve more than you might expect, and there are plenty of deals and a wide variety of options to choose from. The toppings bar is self-serve and offers an impressive selection. The layout of the restaurant is impressive as well. As soon as you enter, you won't feel overwhelmed. There's a clear side bar to help guide you through placing your order, so you won't be confused about where to go. Plus, there's a bench by the order area, which is a thoughtful touch for kids, pregnant women, elderly patrons, those who are sick or disabled, or anyone who might need a moment to rest—including your bags! The restrooms are kept to a very high standard, even better than those at Target. I always feel clean when coming in and out! Everything about this place is great!

Hello, I wanted to share my experience regarding my last two orders (10947551352176640 and 10345634485485569) placed through the Rubio's website. Unfortunately, both times I was missing meals. I would love to give a 5-star review, but despite trying to call and submitting a help request on your website, I haven't received any resolution to the problem. What steps can I take to ensure I receive all my meals with my next order? Thank you. Josh

I recently visited this restaurant and was let down by the experience. For $32, I received two bowls, chips and salsa, and a bottled drink. I ordered the cilantro lime quinoa bowl with grilled veggies instead of chicken, but to my surprise, there was no quinoa at all. The bowl was filled with about 70% rice, and after just a few spoonfuls, I was left eating rice with raw tomatoes. The half-ounce portion of guacamole was frankly insulting, and the grilled veggies were less than an ounce. I can only assume that if I'd ordered it with chicken, I would have received just an ounce of meat. The mango avocado salad was slightly larger, yet for $11, I expected a more substantial portion. As for the chips and guacamole, they were disappointing as well. The chips were over-fried and brown, lacking in flavor. In comparison, I find Chipotle offers much more flavorful food with zero wait time and lower prices. A similar meal there would have cost about 10% less, and I would have received 30% larger portions. Overall, I walked away feeling unsatisfied.

The drink options here are impressive, far surpassing those typically found at most restaurants, with a variety of sodas and teas—not just the usual sweet tea. They even have a bench at the front of the ordering area that is very accommodating for children, pregnant individuals, seniors, and those with disabilities, as well as a handy spot to set down your bag! The restrooms are also maintained to a very high standard, probably even better than many other places I've been to. Overall, I have a wonderful experience every time I visit!
