Benedict’s Café - San Jose

It was just okay. I requested crispy, crunchy bacon but what I got was soggy, floppy bacon. I also asked for eggs cooked over medium, which should have a slightly runny yolk, but one egg was overcooked while the other was soft. I won’t be returning.

My classic eggs Benedict was prepared perfectly. The poached egg was soft, and the yolk was just the right amount of runny. The ham steak was hearty without being overly salty. The hollandaise sauce was excellent as well. Food: 5/5

I really enjoy this restaurant. It's very laid-back during the week, with plenty of seating and easy parking. The place is clean, and the staff is friendly. While some menu items might be on the pricey side, the food is definitely worth it! The chicken and waffles were delicious, and the crepe had a nice balance. My sister liked her steak benedict but thought it could use a bit more seasoning. The biscuits didn't impress me much, and I felt the same way about their mimosas—just decent and pleasant. Overall, I would likely return. This spot is a nice change from the usual crowded brunch places like Bills Cafe. It's nice not to deal with rowdy drunks or kids running around, and finding parking is a breeze—though I will say, some folks don’t seem to know how to park very well!

Disappointed with staff for not recognizing content of omelette. Asked if any bell peppers, was told none but there were. Sitting five hours later still feeling allergy affects. They didn’t even offer to comp the meal! Everyone else’s food was good.

As with any breakfast/brunch spot, you may have to wait a little be seated on the weekends. My second time here was this past Sunday and luckily our wait was only 5-10 minutes. The first time must have been over a year ago on a weekday (so no wait at all).The environment seemed very clean and tidy. The staff are all very attentive and friendly. Portion sizes are not overwhelmingly large. Overall everything we ordered was decent and left us satisfied. The star of the show was most certainly the chicken waffle benedict.Would come again whenever we are in the area!
