Yin Ji Chang Fen - San Gabriel

Food quality is good but way overpriced in comparison to similar restaurants in the area. Service is close to none. I got the table myself, get the table mat and menu myself, the just gave me a small scratch paper and pen to write my order. No water, let alone tea. Only one paper napkin per person. Worse came at the end, No credit cards accepted. This was my first and last visit.

One of my favorite places to get Chang fen and congee. I love the beef and shrimp chang fen, especially with their chili oil. It’s one of the best chili oils I’ve ever had! I put it on everything. Their century egg congee is so flavorful and it reminds me of home. I love dipping the donut stick in the congee too. This is my favorite place to get Chinese breakfast.

Humble place, authentic flavors, nice people.Reminds me of my times in Southern China.

We stayed at the Hilton right next door and walked over for an amazing breakfast! The Brisket Rice roll was fantastic and the chili sauce really hit the spot. Don’t sleep on this spot if you are in the San Gabriel area.
