Bidrage med feedbackStayed here 3 nights. Stunning grounds and pool. For a dinner we shared 3 Campeche appetizers. The waiter explained their origins and ingredients, many of which were new to us even though we travel a lot in Mexico and own a home in Jalisco. Sampling local cuisine is a delight and it was very well prepared here.
This hotel is near the fort wall. Parking is limited, however we were able to find a spot. Check in was confusing because they did not know the amount we already paid. Our room was large, but very dark. Windows small. There are a lot of mosquitos, and it is hard to keep them out of the room. TV in room is too small to enjoy. Chairs in room are not comfortable. The restaurant seems to be in a bit of disarray. We did get a good breakfast there, but the dinners were not so great. Tiny helpings of fish. Overcooked shrimp. Confused servers, that did not know a lot, but were nice.
We stopped by last night to see if we could come for a cocktail and snack. We were so nicely greeted and allowed in. We enjoyed very attentive service, unique and interesting cocktails, and salads. The history of this place is amazing and it's beauty to us is not able to described in words. We have lived in many places in Mexico. Campeche has a magic and this Hacienda will become a favorite hideaway for us. Gracias!
