Bidrage med feedbackThis is the most authentic place to experience Chinese-style BBQ (烤串) in San Francisco. Plus, they stay open late, making it a perfect spot for a late-night snack after a night out!
**Parking and Wait Time:** Street parking is your only option, and if you visit on a Friday night like we did, finding a spot can be quite difficult. Fortunately, the restaurant itself wasn't too crowded, so being seated right away is likely to be an easy experience on any day. **Ambiance and Service:** The interior is clean and nicely decorated, with a quiet atmosphere that allows for easy conversation. Service is prompt and friendly, with waitstaff readily available to assist with any needs. **Food:** I visited with a friend and shared skewers, grilled potatoes, and Chongqing noodles. The skewers included chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, and pork buns, all seasoned with a typical Chinese BBQ mix dominated by a strong cumin flavor. If you're a fan of cumin, you'll appreciate how well it complements the crispy, flavorful, and juicy meats. However, if cumin isn’t your favorite, you might find the skewers overwhelming and repetitive in taste. Personally, I enjoyed the majority of the skewers, except for the chicken, which had an odd, rubbery texture. The grilled potatoes were decent, but the Chongqing noodles were a highlight—spicy and mouth-numbing with mala seasoning, making them savory and delicious. Your enjoyment of this dish will also hinge on your affinity for mala spice. In summary, I had a great meal here, but individual experiences may vary. The enjoyment largely revolves around your liking for cumin and mala spices. If you're on board with these flavor profiles and steer clear of the chicken, you’re likely to have an enjoyable dining experience like I did.
I ordered a selection of skewers, but they all had the same seasoning. I couldn’t tell if I was eating pork, beef, or chicken since they all tasted alike. They were overly seasoned with cumin.
Please read before ordering!! I don't write a lot of reviews but I am so livid because this place is a rip off... $55 bucks deliver on DoorDash and it can't even fill 1 person up. They have the audacity to put 4 pieces of small meat on a skewer and charge over 3.5 for each stick? I ordered 10 skewers total some were more expensive than the others but totaling $55 please see the pic and be aware that this is what you get for a couple of lame skewers for the price. If you sort the reviews and look at the 1 star or even the 2 and the generous 3 stars that were given to them. most of them say the portion of food is absolutely crazy for what you pay and the food all taste the same cause they use the same seasoning on everything. You can't tell the difference between the diff types of meats. Note to management I know food prices have gone up I will happily pay for it but the amount of food? That's robbery! I can easily buy a good piece of steak for under 40 bucks and will get me actually full I ordered 2 skewers that cost 6 bucks with 5 small pieces on eachIf you live close by do yourself a favor and go to any shabu shabu or Korean bbq or Thai or All You Can eat and BBQ whatever at least you'll be full or... HECK! have a full blown meal and an experience at house of prime rib! It Won't be as expensive as this place! I can order myself a whole fricking crab and a side of fried rice for this price!! Wtf?! How can you do people like that?
Very good Chinese Barbecue, and also maybe the best Asian noodles I have ever had. They may not be the Chinese place you go for a cheap meal on a routine basis, but for something special, go and try, it really is a notch above most Chinese places.By the way, 4 stars means very good for me there has been to much star inflation on yelp, such that now it seems like places want only five stars. However for me, 4 stars is really worth going back for.
