Bao - San Francisco

I wasn’t sure if this place would be authentic enough but let me tell you it is and it’s delicious! Very reasonably priced, doesn’t have all the things at the larger dim sum restaurants, but it’s my favorite dim sum in SF so far! Not pretentious but also inventive and has great flavor! Four of us sat outside. It was lovely. Indoors looked less exciting but you can see the kitchen making everything. Def not the premade, steamed stuff.

Fantastic place! Fast service, freshly prepared dumplings on site. The baked black truffle beef Baos were a definite must not miss if you enjoy meat. Good vegetarian and pescatarian options. Large and varied menu. Lovely clean restroom! Do not miss this gem!

I have to admit, my dining experience was absolutely amazing. The Singapore Style Fried Rice Noodle I chose was without a doubt the best I've ever tasted. The genuine flavors and ideal texture of the noodles created a burst of flavor with every bite. I tend to be very critical with my reviews, but this dish surpassed all of my expectations.

The food at this restaurant is incredible. I enjoy ordering from here and I hope to dine in person someday. Their baos and dumplings are outstanding. I highly recommend trying their baked BBQ pork baos, as they are the best I've ever had. The sweet bao special, especially the vanilla custard one, is my favorite. The baos are not only delicious, but also very cute.
