Bacco - San Francisco

The food was average but service was very nice! The. Server was very kind and suggested us good options.

Atmosphere (outside area) food, but table bread is phenomenal and I could eat unhealthy amounts of it any day. The litmus test is the spaghetti and meatballs for the kids and they found it 'meh ' and didn 't finish it. Also had the branzino (solid), chicken sandwich (pretty good), and a side of fries (damn good).

Bacco offers good food throughout. I often bring guests to the restaurant and they are always impressed. this is my way to the restaurant for friends and visitors as well as my stand for meals.

This is surely one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. The food was prepared imaginatively and with great care, and was absolutely superb. Our party decided to dine here because we planned to attend an event close by, and the restaurant was convenient. We were pleasantly surprised at the absolutely excellent quality of the food, the friendliness and attentiveness of the service, and the comfortable ambiance--not over-the-top elegant, but completely accommodating and pleasant. It was like dining in a friend's home. Though we came to Bacco out of convenience, we will certainly return, because it is a gem.

The food at Bacco is always very good. The manager is delightful--friendly, responsive and on top of all the details. The cooks and bussers are working hard throughout every visit. HOWEVER, the server we have had several times either has too many tables to serve or isn't interested in a deuce because the tip won't be as high as a table with more people. Whatever his reason, he does not take the order unless the manager follows up with him. On every visit she has taken our drink and first course order and when he delivers the first course, he does us a favor by taking our main course order. We were there Saturday night and my main course was luke warm, meaning he let it sit on the counter while he did other things. It took literally 15 minutes to get him to bring the bill and then handle the credit card. We could see him talking to other customers but he had his back to us and couldn't be bothered. We are thinking really hard about whether we want to go back anytime soon. It's a shame but indifferent service is a turnoff even when the food is good.
