The Marine Room - San Diego

The Marine Room is located directly on the beaches of La Jolla. All restaurants in downtown La Jolla have quite spectacular views, but the Marine room had hands down the best views there. The waves come to the windows. I was here for dinner, but I would imagine that if I came earlier, the sunset would be right out of my window. Great. And as you would expect from such a restaurant, the food was also good. The only reason this restaurant doesn't get 5 stars from me is because I couldn't stroll over my court, but it was undeniably good. One of my well-run colleagues, however, said that it was in his Top 3 restaurants that he had ever eaten, so I know that others love it. I had one of the specials of the night that was a bacon wrapped monk. This is the first time I've ever seen bacon wrapped fish, and it was all the success. The accompanying bars of asparagus and beans or whatever Veggies were, however, gave a kind of eh. The dessert was ok – but I think Extraordinary Desserts blows it out of the water. But this is definitely the most beautiful place I have eaten, and I recommend it to everyone on a romantic date!

Yummity yum yum yum! We have Marine Rooms. It is cozy and intimate with a fantastic, near sea view. All we have tried was deelish (except for perhaps the flavored Dessert coffee). Our absolute fave is probably their surfing and lawn. It is cooked for perfection. The staff is very friendly, not all stop and sniff like some of the other upscale restaurants in the area. The food is a bit expensive, but we think it's definitely worth it!

Fancy and you get what you pay. My cousins had their wedding reception here. 4 excellent courses and some of the most creative desserts I have tasted. Especially enjoyed the panna cotta. Lobster and Fillet Mignon were perfect. The view of La Jolla is incomparable. Waiters are very good and professional. Parking service available. Open for dinner only. If you want to impress someone, the Marine Room would be the place to take them.

It was an amazing atmosphere. The service was great. I enjoyed the taste of food, but I only had more expectation for quality. I would highly recommend this restaurant and request Jonathan as a server.

Absolutely loved the experience. The food was amazing and our food went beyond and beyond us. 100 percent recommend this location to everyone. We came to celebrate our anniversary and it was so romantic and amazing.
