I love the vibe at this place. The art, decor, music, and even customers to a degree just give this really cool and chill and vaguely punk but not intimidating vibe. Best coffee shop vibes in San Diego for me for sure, even if it is mostly a study/work coffee shop. I love the starman latte, but I may be biased because I'm a big Bowie fan : My only complaint is the wifi password wasn't clearly posted and I get nervous asking for the wifi. I need to stop coming here. Everytime no matter what part of day the staff working takes FOREVER. They don 't wear gloves and the girl just liked her finger then finished making an açaí bowl. I ordered a smoothie 23 minutes okay. Once everyone who ordered after me got their items I kindly asked what 's that status? And she replied we 're working on it now . She legit turned around and then started it. I don 't think they forgot I just don 't think they care and there 's no sense of urgency. Boo.

Nice place in North Park to study, sip a coffee and eat breakfast. I really love the atmosphere here. They have a big drink food menu as well. I had a bagel this time for breakfast, it's a mozzarella spinach bagel. The portion is very big for a very reasonable price. The taste is nice too. I will come back here for sure.

Service was not so great. Food was just okay. Parking thankfully was no problem. The drink that I got was good but my partners drink wasn't good at all. Food I got the bagel melt and he got the lox only because that day they weren't cooking eggs. He got the Reese's iced drink and I got the chocolate mocha I think it was called. The pastries that they had looked like they were from the day before no fresh ones. Looked like some danishes and quiches. No muffins or donuts the day we went.

The thing I like about North Park sometimes is that I have to park a few blocks away from University Ave on 29th Street, then walk up 30th Street to eventually reach University Ave. Of course, it always healthy to walk distances as it makes my Apple Watch happy. But this time, I saw a shop while heading up 30th Street to make a visit to George 's Camera that immediately caught my eye when I looked at the sign posed outside the entrance! It read: Mexican Mocha in large all cap print!! At that moment I saw nothing else there! I quickly looked inside and noticed it was a pretty busy place, so I decided I would come back after I my trip to George 's. Upon my return, I noticed just about every table in the seating area was taken a good sign that this place is well liked! There were three baristas working at the counter area and, as I do on most of my store visits, I let them know I was a Yelp Elite and made sure it was ok to take photos. Now, I know I can do this without asking as far as taking photos go. However, if any issues do arise, I do believe the shop will take my side in most cases if someone disapproves. I ordered my Mexican mocha and spent some time talking to a kind lady who regularly visits Subterranean. She noted that they do offer gluten free donuts among their pastry offerings. The display isn 't large. However, I think some items had sold out before my visit. Before writing this review, I visited Subterranean Coffee on its Facebook page and the internet (it can be found on Facebook at Subterranean Coffee Boutique . I was not able to find much info on its history, so I assume the arrival of their two stores (one in North Park and the second in South Park is probably a recent development in these areas. I will say the menu is VERY impressive, along with the coffee, smoothie, etc. beverages they offer. My Mex mocha was EXCELLENT! I will say it was smoother than others I 've had in the past, made from a powder mix (thankfully!! , and grew on me the more I consumed it (DOUBLE thankfully!!! ! In addition, the large 20 oz version I purchased came with 3 espresso shots (TRIPLE thankfully!!! ! I 'll be back for more!! I will also look forward to trying Subterranean 's sandwiches and smoothies. This shop offers a lot of options to its customers. I am not surprised to see that. And I look forward to upping the review to 5 stars after visit for round two! I really have my eye on açaí! I gotta get me that smoothie! To add further, this shop is clean overall, spacious in seating, but still frequented by many who seem to be regulars here. If I still lived in North Park, I know I would be here too! The baristas were very courteous and handled the store 's busyness well. Overall very impressive! I look forward to visiting again! Recommend: HIGH (I 'm sure it will be VERY HIGH after my next visit!
