Bidrage med feedbackRoy's now has a chain-like atmosphere, with a menu full of saucy and crusted dishes that try to mask subpar preparation.
My experience at Roy’s was quite surprising. Despite its reputation as an upscale restaurant offering elegant Hawaiian-inspired seafood dishes, I felt it fell short. The restaurant's location inside the Marriott Hotel was not easily accessible and the layout was confusing. The service was slow and not well-coordinated, with dishes being brought out in a haphazard manner. My Ali’i Seafood Dynamite, the most expensive item on the menu, was disappointing. The dynamite sauce was too mayonnaisey and the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. While some dishes were enjoyed by my dining companions, overall, Roy’s did not provide good value for the price we paid. The waitstaff, however, was kind in wishing my friend Happy Birthday.
Last night, we had a great experience at the restaurant. Our waiter, Gilbert, was friendly and attentive, and the woman who brought our drinks was also very nice. The food was served promptly, and they even made a special anniversary card for us and brought a small dessert for us to enjoy together.
A little pricey but very good. Restaurant is a bit worn inside but overall…we’d be back outside.
Dinner at Roy's right before a blues concert at Rady Shell was a great choice. The outdoor patio was relaxing and the service outstanding. The soup and a fish dinner were perfect for a summer evening.
