Nicolosi's On 5th - San Diego

My wife and I stopped in on a weekend get away to San Diego. The atmosphere was amazing! We loved their choice of music, the staff were super friendly and the food was superb!!

5 stars doesn't do justice to this place. It's literally heaven on earth for Italian food. The photo proves that I couldn't wait to take a picture. I ordered the oven meat ravioli (filled with meatball meat) and my fiancee ordered the lobster mac n' cheese. The first came with a lot of the best marinara sauce i've ever tasted and a perfect excess of cheese. The mac came with a mix of like 4 cheeses and a lot of lobster. Both were perfect in flavor, temperature and presentation... but the marinara man...is just on another level. Please if you order anything there, taste the marinara either way. We also ordered the garlic bread that was great but eclipsed by the raviolis and mac. I had to reschedule my day tomorrow so I can come back and taste the pizza that looked awesome.

PIZZA PERFECTION !!! OMG!!!!I have traveled all over the world and never had a pizza as good as the Barb's Pizza that I had here tonight.I've eaten Pizza all over the world and nothing comes close.Freaking incredible..This wonderful restaurant is only five blocks from my house.... how did I never you know about it before?To be clear this is not the San Carlos location, although I'm sure it's equally as great,.... they've opened a new one on 5th avenue between e and f.Truly it is Gaslamp's greatest pizza and Italian restaurantSo I walked in the front door ...(dressed like an Indian guru cuz I'm into energy and all that) and I got met with waves of love and beauty.It was obvious that all of the staff loved their jobs, loved each other, and loved their patrons.And then they brought the food and blew my crown chakra wide open.PIZZA BLISS, ENLIGHTENED AT LAST,OM Pizza OM.....??My only complaint is I can never go back to Papa John's ever again.FIVE STARS IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HIGH ENOUGH. THIS PLACE IS A WINNER.Giant shout out to hostess Lily and manager server extraordinaire Victoria, they made mine, and everyone else's evening incredible.I smelled and laid eyes on their other traditional wonderful Italian dishes as they passed by me on the way to other happy diners. Wow!!I

Enjoyed the Barb's Special pizza a medium was perfect for sharing. Attentive service.

Very cute little restaurant in gas lamp. Reasonable prices for gas lamp. We had the gorgonzola walnut salad to start and it was good but I wasn't a huge fan of the dressing. I feel like a different more fruit or less balsamic dressing would compliment it much better.My friend had the fettuccine alfredo and was not impressed. She said it was bland. I have this issue with a lot of alfredos so I wasn't surprised. The food did come out super hot and fresh. You can tell they make everything which is great.I had the gnocchi Tuscan. It was really good.They seem to have amazing pizzas. Next time I'll try one for sure.The service here is awesome tho. Everyone was so nice
