Bidrage med feedbackWe had to take mom to Kaiser for an injection. Afterwards, we went to Costco down the street. Usually after shopping, we also take her to lunch. Since it was early yet, I called my brother and asked if he and his family would like to join us. He asked when and where, and I told him that we wanted any kind of noodles. He called back and said Got Pho, which was close. We met them there. They were already seated. We perused the menu and made our selections. When the server came to take our order, we were ready. For eight people, we got five large bowls of Pho, one Plate of Chow Fun, one Rice Plate and one bowl of Bun. Additionally, we ordered two orders of Vegetarian Egg Rolls and one order of Prawn Tempura, one Mango Shake and one Thai Milk Tea. The order taker was great, good sense of humor and excellent hospitality. The person who delivered the food didn't seem to speak much English and didn't announce what he was delivering to the table, so we had to figure out what each dish was and who it went to. In general, we felt that the food was very good. There were two things that bothered me enough to be off-putting. Payment is at the register. My sister-in-law and I were fighting for the check at the counter, but I outweigh her by at least 2x. My credit card made it through the reader first and I was given the receipt to sign. Before I added a gratuity, I asked if a gratuity had already been added to the check and was told yes. I had expected that since there were eight of us. However, if I hadn't asked, I very easily could have added another tip. That could have been my fault because I didn't ask to see the itemized check first, but I think that good customer service would dictate that she should have told me that when she handed me the charge slip to sign. The other irritation is that my mom ordered a cup of hot water to drink. On the itemized check was a 50-cent charge for Hot Tea. Hot Water is not Hot Tea. Yes, it may be a bit more work but certainly not more than serving Ice Water. 50-cents is not a big deal on a $177 check, but it's the principle of charging the 50-cents that bothers me. The near miss and solid miss dropped my rating from 5-stars to 3.
One of the best pho spots that I have come across in my time in the bay area, the flavor is well-developed and the cost is reasonable! The portion sizes are large, the ingredients are fresh, and the interior is clean. The wait staff are also friendly, immediately welcoming you when you enter the restaurant and socializing casually with customers. Each table had QR Codes of the menu, and hard-copies were brought over to customers as well. I tend to get the combination pho, or a pork vermicelli bowl, with a side of coffee or milk tea. You can definitely tell that the Vietnamese hot coffee is strong, the waiter brings over the cup and the aroma instantly embraces everyone at the table. It is a little bitter, but contained a hint of sweetness and smoothness from the condensed milk. A couple of random thoughts: I really like that the soup spoons had a curved handle at the top, in order to prevent it from falling into the bowl. Ha-ha, my spoon still ended up submerged at one point in the meal, but it is a much-appreciated detail. Sauces are provided in a small bowl (each person gets one) rather than the bottles themselves; if you are someone who likes to add a lot of chili/hoisin sauce, you might have to ask for another serving. Not sure if there is an additional cost affiliated with this.
Service took waaaaay too long for one order!! Waited 45 min for pho soup that I pre ordered online. Poor service!!!
Nice place. Very quick service. Good food. Sweet people. Recommended
The food was okay, nothing special, the appetizer came out after the entree, also the first time I ever been to a Vietnamese restaurant and they have ZERO condiments on any table didn't even have napkins on the tables. After the 3rd time of asking for extra Sriracha they finally brought me the bottle. I know it's a recession but seriously at least provide the bare minimum, I shouldn't have to flag someone down or feel like I'm begging for the basics. Definitely won't be back.
