Mr C's Chicken Waffles - San Antonio

Excellent and speedy service! The food was right on point—make sure to arrive with a hearty appetite because the Chicken and Eggs will definitely satisfy you, especially when paired with a waffle. I will definitely return for the ambiance and the outstanding customer service. If you can, request Leeyah; she was fantastic! And don’t forget to tip your server!

My mom and I visited this restaurant for lunch, and overall it was a decent experience. We ordered fried skins, fried pickles, and skillet mac and cheese. The server who attended to us was extremely sweet, helpful, and friendly. The only downside I found was the atmosphere; it was a bit chaotic due to a few screaming children, which created an echo that was quite overwhelming. I actually had to put in earplugs to cope with the noise. However, I understand that kids can be loud, so I don't want to complain too much about that. Apart from that, the place had a nice vibe, and I definitely plan to return with my boyfriend.

I had a fantastic experience this evening. There was one server and the manager/chef handling everything, and it was just perfect. The cornbread and fried tomatoes were amazing and served hot. When I mentioned to the server that I might take the waffles home for my child, the manager brought over a box with the food. The chicken and meatloaf were delicious, and the cabbage with bacon was exceptional. We definitely plan to come back to try the pork chops and grits, and hopefully the sweet potato pie as well, though they were out of it tonight.

It's called chicken and waffel for a reason. We got 2 appetizer and 4 meals. The only thing that was good was the chicken and waffles. The chicken fried steak was a piece of runner and couldn't be eaten. The meatloaf was average and the skillet bowl had no flavor. Fried tomatoes were edible and the wings were actually really good. The floors were dirty and they had 3 servers that never refilled our drinks. Took them 44 minutes to bring us our food after ordering so if you don't have a lot of time on your hands don't go! The fried chicken was really good as well as the blueberry and velvet waffel! Sadly will never go back again.

Today, June 18th, I ordered from Mr. C’s Fried Chicken and Waffles for the first time. Based on the positive reviews, I thought my first experience would be great but I was so disappointed.I ordered two thighs, two waffles, grits, and grapes Kool-Aid.The chicken was fried to perfection; however, I didn’t taste any seasoning.The waffles were tough and whomever put the butter in the waffle only put a small piece, on the edge, as you can see from where it melted in the picture. Extra butter wasn’t included in the bag with the condiments.The grits were cooked like I’m used to do this was a no for me.I’ve not drank Kool-Aid in a decade but still remember the delicious and sweet flavors. I didn’t get this experience with the Kool-Aid. I could tell that sugar was added but a small amount, not even enough to be considered sweet.I will be drinking the Kool-Aid. I did eat the grits but I threw the waffles and chicken in the garbage.I don’t like giving bad reviews. But this is one place I’ll never eat at again, and I won’t recommend it to others.
