Bubba's Smokehouse - San Angelo

We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, half a pound of brisket, a side of potato salad, some chips, and three drinks, which came to a total of $40. The brisket was incredibly flavorful but had a lot of fat. Unfortunately, the pulled pork was lacking in flavor and very lean. They provide both original and sweet BBQ sauces. The iced tea was good, and the chips came in single-serving bags, but the potato salad did not impress us. The atmosphere was quite relaxed since we were the only customers at that time, around mid-afternoon. The tables were covered with picnic tablecloths, and the chairs had a retro 1970s diner style. The place can seat about 40 people. The restrooms were clean and well-stocked. They had a TV with a remote control accessible to customers. While the floors were sticky, the restaurant was overall clean. The staff was charming, helpful, and very attentive. I would definitely consider trying this establishment again and would recommend it to others. I do hope they increase their advertising efforts to avoid the common pitfalls that small businesses face, as it would be a shame for them to close down. I’m giving it 1.5 stars due to the excessive fat on the brisket, which made half a pound feel more like an eighth, and another half star for the sticky floors.

I highly recommend trying the tater tots—they are absolutely delicious! However, my second visit was quite disappointing. The BBQ I had on January 27, 2023, was terrible. It was dry, unappetizing, and frankly disgusting. I'm not sure what went wrong. The pork was tough, the potatoes were dry, and the beans had an unpleasant taste. I really enjoyed my first two visits, but this time was a letdown.

This restaurant is a cozy little spot. I suspect it's a family-owned business due to its welcoming atmosphere and warm service. The food was good, and we particularly enjoyed the ribs. However, it was quite pricey. Overall, I would rate the food 5/5.

Here is a quick lunch at the passage. I pulled the Briske, Jalapeño sausage, chicken and pork. Large quantity and high quality meat. You can say that much care has been taken to eat.

I really miss working there! Can't wait to come see yall and eat the best BBQ in Texas!
