Piatti San Antonio

I love this restaurant. The food is always amazing, by European standards the pizzas are yummy, thin crust and more Italian than American. The service is friendly and helpful. Be aware that it can get very busy on weekends and lunchtimes so time your visit accordingly but I have no doubt that you will enjoy!

The food wasn't as good as before the reopening. Some dishes were good and some were over bread. Pizza was burned and rather dry. Bad wine selection.

Newly renovated great space. Not loud. Like before renovation Busy dinner action cuz very popular. I think later is fun crowd Food was pretty but not great. Pizza was nothing special and pricey. Wait staff was great. Very personable and attentive.

The new menu reads better than it tastes, our food clearly sat for awhile before coming out. Our server visited our table three times. Once to turn our glasses over for water which she brought 15 minutes later when she took our order. It must have been her first or second day and/or she was ill or having a really hard time personally so we tried to be patient. Our order was delivered incorrectly but she never returned. We ate and then waited about 40 minutes to get the bill. Finally, we walked to the front to ask to pay and leave. They searched for her and she brought the device to show our bill and pay. The new layout/design of the restaurant seems nice. I do miss the quality of food from the old menu. There were 5 employees we encountered on the patio for 6 tables, and everyone seemed totally at a loss. My guess is they are new/not trained? We won’t be back, inflation is bad enough we’ll stick to the few restaurants we always get good food and service and I’ll make a copycat recipe for the pasta they took off their menu at home.

Although the new renovated Piatti has a more modern feel, the menu is very different and the food offerings subpar compared to the old menu. The new menu is mostly filled with sandwiches and pizzas versus the decadent options on the old menu. Maybe it was a simple lunch menu. I did find the butternut squash soup I used to enjoy but this version was less flavorful and quite bland. I was so excited for the reopening but left a tad disappointed. It may have been just fine had I not been to the old Piatti a least 50 times. May expectations were already set to a high standard the new Piatti did not achieve.
