Bidrage med feedbackWe have just returned from a 5-day ski tour over the new year to samoëns, which remains in the white. we booked last minute and there was not much hotel availability and initially I was holding back to book a 2* hotel, but the reviews were good so we. with him. it is a pleasant hotel in a good location with magnificent views over the city and the mountains and the owners michelle and crick are friendly, helpful and welcoming. yes, there is an 800 meter high hill back from the city, but we have nothing against it that it keeps them fit! the hotel and the rooms are clean and I am restless, but I could not find any mistakes with cleanliness at all. the fittings and fittings are dated, but sufficient and our room (No.10) was very small. the shower was over the bath with a shower curtain I had to fight every day, but much hot water, but the floor ends up each time. there were only 2 towels per room, but they were happy to deliver more when asked. the bed was comfortable and the lighting was good. what the room lacked was a hair dryer, a mirror (small mirror over washbasin, but that was it) all ironing facilities at all, just a few clothes hangers, no water cooker or drinks facilities, no tw (there was a tiny screen, but it didn't work) and only 1 kiss each. Now that the hotel is good over its 2*, it is eating. we ate in hotel restaurant 3 nights and eating was superb really good if not better than other top rated restaurants in the city and many of them, the portion sizes were really generous (see, they need that go to hills)! we found the lack of background music a little strange, it's not a busy place and every little silence is deaf. they could really do with a little music. they have a small bar area, but it closes between 9
We were here overnight while we sketched in samoens in the grand massif. they get a beautiful view of the mountains and it is a quick journey to gondola and old part of samoens. the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly...and professional. we would stay here definitiw.
We stayed 3 nights for skiing and had a very pleasant stay. The standard room was big for a ski resort, plenty of cupboards and excellent bathroom and shower. Fantastic view from the big balcony window. The staff were welcoming and did speak some English, tho...as always responded week to my O level French. Good lounge which was quiet our first 2 nights but lively the third. Breakfast was substantial and reasonably priced. We ate in the restaurant 1 night and were impressed with all the course except the main which was fine, but not as good as the others courses. It is up a hill overlooking the town but only a10 to 15 minute walk or 2 minutes in the car. Most people staying here will come in a car. Overall recommended.
We made a big mistake by booking in for their 2012/13 New Year 's Eve special dinner. It was expensive cc €70 each plus wine, we waited an hour for our starter, the plates were cold and when I complained I was told, What do you...expect on New Year 's Eve! We will never go there again.
Clean, large room for the three of us. Great view across the valley to ski area.Hotel is up on slope above town a little bit. No ski bus access. Dinner was really good, I wanted fondue and they changed the menu a bit and served it! Yummy. Also breakfast was good.
