Bidrage med feedbackWe had the misfortune to chose this place at random over the other hundreds of bars in this area. Started well good clean toilets ordered 2 drinks , sat enjoying the night, owner kept bringing shots to people all around and seemed to have a sit with all and drink a shot of ouzo himself. On o e swoop round we ordered 2 more beers p
A very small but really nice bar in the centre of Salzburg. The service was very nice, just as the people and the music. I am waiting to come back once again.
The wife and I popped in here for a quite drink. 3 hours later we stumbled out. Mario ... what a top bloke. Such a friendly, welcoming guy. Sat on our own, he introduced us to everyone. Made new friends and had such a laugh. Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be coming back.
We stumbled at this cosy little bar by accident. Great music, nice beer, Mario himself was lovely. The place has a relaxed, a bit underground feel to it. If you are a smoker that's definitely the place to go, you will be looked after. If you are the type that enjoys hyped, trendy, mainstream bars then stay way.
Like a previous reviewer I too stumbled ( literally) into this delightful oasis on a very snowy evening. Anxious to get out of the minus 10 blizzard conditions outside we dropped in "just for the one" but I get the feeling no one stops for less at Marios. I too felt like a walk on part in a local drama. The clientele was extremely lively and welcoming. After my husbands display of dancing to Zorba the Greek the ouzo flowed and the walk home was more of a slide. Despite feeling like a train ran over me the next morning I can never forget my unique experience at Marios tavern mainly due to the exceptional warm welcome of the man himself. I have to confess it took me a while to work out that we weren't in a traditional Austrian bar.. I guess the pictures of the Acropolis might have been a hint. We didn't try the food but I'm sure that would only have been as charming as this unique haven of Salzburg. Live long and prosper Mario. When my headache subsides I will remember you with fondness and joy.
