Bidrage med feedbackAbsolute joke. We went a while back and were told they were going to start doing gf chips/have a dedicated fryer. Went today, queued, told yes they do but it will be about 10 15 mins wait on gf chips, said that was fine. Around only a min or so later she comes back with a box and said oh actually they’re already ready. They were not chip shops chips, but what looked like a bag of oven chips fried. Had I wanted oven chips i’d have made them at home! They were awful to boot, and went in a nearby bin. Note to self just go to Seabreeze in Redcar who are fantastic every time.
Well….. disorganised to say the least!! Que was huge i nipped up to counter to ask if any GF and if dedicated fryer…. Told it would be 45mins to an hour because someone had already ordered GF and that was in the fryer( I’m guessing it’s a tiny fryer)… had to ask if I had to q and order and then wait an hour ? They eventually let me order and went back an hour later the server who took my order had left and the new girl didn’t know about the order ….. found some meals on the side which wasn’t labelled GF but she said they were as they GF comes with fries not chips! order was then wrong… kids sausages hadn’t been cooked so had to wait another 10 mins for sausages! Then they forgot to put the bread buns in after all the waiting !! Credit where credits due the fish was beautiful not sure it was worth all the faff but we were left with no other choices for food in the area!
Ordered takeaway gf fish and chips. Said I should wait 20 minutes, but 40 minutes later... still no food. They did bring it shortly after me inquiring and refunded me for waiting so long. It was pretty standard fish and chips... not worth the wait, but one of the few gf options on the pier.
If your coeliac it is not safe. Assured it was gluten free and was very poorly instantly after being glutened WOULD NOT RECOMEND.
We enjoyed a family meal here last week. My daughter is coeliac and the team at Seaview couldn’t do enough to help. They have a really good gluten free menu, fully understand the need to avoid cross contamination for a coeliac. Chef even made her a tomato soup for starters with some GF bread on the side. Fantastic place to eat for coeliacs and non coeliacs alike, an a wonderfully upbeat and positive team working there!
