La Esquina - Salta

Absolutely love this place. They have a wide variety of sandwiches like sausage to beef, hamburger, milanesa, and even breaded toasted mozzarella (pati de mozzarella) for "vegetarians". They also have an insane amount of sauces and toppings of which you can have as many as you want. A few blocks away from the famous Balcarce Street nightlife area, it's always filled with locals at nighttime but since it's literally on a street corner you can try to grab one of the tables outside or sit inside or even just eat standing outside. Service is amazing, the staff is always willing to answer any questions and will put your toppings on the sandwich anyway you want them. The "traditional" sandwiches are huge and really feed two people. I've tried similar sandwiches in food trucks around Salta but these are the best. Cheap and delicious! And open till late ;)

The shopfront may not look like anything amazing and they can quickly judge and go, but I think that is what there is character and makes it more authentic. if they give the opportunity to eat here, it's...seriously their loss. this place was highly recommended to us by one of the employees in our hotel (alejandro i) and I am glad that we have taken his word for it. not surprising, it is on a corner so a very apt name, it is a few blocks from the city, but definitely worth finding. we chose the things we wanted on our sandwiches and took a number. we sat at one of the few small tables on the order window and watched as many local and tourist as they ordered their sandwiches. ours were ready within minutes. it was the most delicious sandwich I ever had and also one of the best meal times I had during my 3 weeks stay in Argentinia (and we don't forget that Argentinia for it is steak known it was so big, we couldn't even finish it, but lucky took it away to eat later on the day. fantastic value for money! make you like one and get a sandwich here!

A little fast. I liked that the double-burgers were served in a long, non-stacked bungalow. they have many different types of sauces that they can add to their burger, sandwich or hot dog. the prices were also very reasonable.
