Hastings House - Salt Spring Island

The dining room at Hastings House is a beautiful place, with a slight atrium vibe. The food was fantastic and the service at the Manor dining room was top-notch.

Hastings House has a beautiful view of the port and Manor Dining offers an elegant environment with an in-house atmosphere. Our meals and service were top-notch and they were able to meet my husband's needs for a gluten-free (celiac) meal. The endive salad was... excellent. The halibut was excellent and was served with a sublime polnta. Beautiful vegetables, all perfectly prepared — cauliflower, broccoli and cherry tomatoes. The shepherd cake was also excellent. We would have liked a dessert, but unfortunately we were too full.

This is the best terrace and 5-star experience on the island. Dinner is a bit expensive, but it is worth at least once. It became our favorite cocktail spot, best look at the island.

Excellent food. A perfect service. We didn't think we could find this level of food. Do not understand why this is not the number 1 restaurant on the island on Trip Advisor. Warm. But with it! A special experience.

We were excited for our family to revisit this restaurant, but were let down in several ways. To start, we were surprised by the $10 price tag for the bread basket. Additionally, the popular schnitzel we were looking forward to was already sold out, with only one portion left by 7pm. Our starters were also delivered inconsistently, with four arriving promptly and the fifth arriving half an hour later. It was clear that there were issues in the kitchen that night.
