Publik Coffee Roasters - Salt Lake City

I visited the café just to grab some coffee, but they informed us that we couldn’t sit down just for drinks and had to stand at the counter instead. We ended up standing there for over thirty minutes, and the drinks were excessively sweet. Overall, I would rate the service a 1 out of 5.

I wouldn't recommend the iced chai; it’s not worth the $6. Perhaps the coffee drinks are better. If you order to-go, you'll have to put the lid on the cup yourself, and the large lids didn't fit the large cups properly. Food rating: 1/5.

I visited this coffee shop to work on a project and brought my service dog along. She was friendly and well-behaved, receiving affection from the guests around her. I had her on a leash next to me, and there were no issues or complaints. However, one of the baristas asked me to leave because of the dog. I explained that she is a service dog, and she accepted that initially. After about an hour, the barista returned to my table and made the same request, which puzzled me. I clarified again that she is a service dog and inquired if there was another reason for the request. She claimed it was because my dog was jumping on people and licking them. In reality, my dog was simply engaging with those who approached her, which was quite a few people. I found the barista's attitude disrespectful and felt that she was creating an issue where there wasn't one. My service dog accompanies me everywhere without causing problems; she enjoys interacting with those who want to pet her and stays calm for those who don’t. Even as I was packing up to leave, people came over to say goodbye and show her affection. It’s disappointing to have had this experience because I would have loved to support this coffee shop with my time and money. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it.

Publik Avenues gives you the same menu of toasts and pastries as the roastery location, but with a more intimate space and a charming patio. One drawback is that the indoor seats are all metal IKEA stools, so you'll be dining sans back support. I suppose that helps the tables turn over. The patio tables outside are more comfortable, and there's always plenty of folks enjoying their offerings.The baristas are top notch. Service is friendly and quick with four staff members behind the counter.

Love the coffee here. Really good toast — their bread is delicious.Good for an iced tea in the summer too ?
