Ihop - Salisbury

This has been our breakfast spot for about six months ever since we discovered their delicious protein pancakes. There were a few occasions when we visited during busy times, and we noticed they were a bit short-staffed, which impacted the service. We appreciated their efforts despite that. However, today was not a great experience. We waited over an hour for our food, which was just a simple pancake and egg combo. It turned out that another waitress mistakenly took our order and delivered it to the wrong table, requiring our meal to be remade. This took quite a while. The waitress did her best to get us a discount for the long wait, but in the end, we received just a 10% discount. Given the time we had to wait, that felt quite inadequate. My husband voiced his concerns, but the manager insisted that the discount was fixed at 10%. We usually tip well and even decided to give the waitress the original amount, but after this experience, we won’t be returning to this restaurant for breakfast.

I love IHOP! They always strive to do their best, even with staff shortages. Bless their hearts. Brandy, the manager, was amazing – she managed to juggle waiting tables and cooking while keeping everyone happy. I will definitely be going back and will request a table in her section. Thank you, Brandy!

This location was out of a good portion of their menu items. The plus for them was that they told us before we were seated, but that a truck would be delivering in 2 days. We left because of the lack of options, which left one member of our party with no choices due to food allergies.

I believe the manager should take the time to assist the staff! Instead, she focused on paperwork that could have waited until after service. Teamwork truly makes a difference! We ended up waiting for half an hour. The food was delicious, and the waiting staff were fantastic! However, the manager could benefit from additional training to better support her team, rather than just issuing commands to an already stressed staff.
