Kakawa Chocolates - Salem

Almost all of the drink chocolates are vegan, and there are plenty of clearly labeled vegan sweets in the display cases. This was my first time trying drinking chocolate, and we had the opportunity to sample flavors before placing our orders. I opted for the 3 oz chili drink chocolate, and it was more than enough—so rich and decadent! The truffles we ordered were also delightful. Everything is beautifully presented, and there are many cozy seating options where you can enjoy these tasty treats.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegan options available! They offer a great selection! They can even make vegan milkshakes using almond milk and their delicious sorbets.

Lots of vegan and GF options, staff very knowledgeable on food options for different dietary restrictions.

I recently tried the peppermint paper recommendation, and it was fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to suggest vegan options. I ordered a flight of four hot chocolates—some were made with almond milk, while others were prepared in a traditional Mesoamerican style without milk. Each one was delicious and had a rich, intense flavor, making the flight a perfect way to sample them all.
