Le 8 - Sainte-Foy-la-Grande

We had a hard time finding any restaurant open on a Sunday, so we were happy to find Le 8. The soup was delicious. We should have stopped there. My husband ordered the huge steak. The cook came out and showed us the piece of meat he was going to cook. We felt we couldn't change our minds by then even though it looked like half a cow. Even if it was perfect, there was no way we could have finished it, so we took most of it home. Unfortunately it was big but not the best cut of meat, tougher chewing than should have been for the price.

We really like 'le 8 '. It is convenient placed in Ste. Foy near the centre. The staff are helpful and we think that the food is interesting, well prepared and well presented. However, some of the dishes are a little idiosyncratic the interesting ice creams, profiterole in an entree etc. Some of us love it and others hate it. The portions are substantial and could be smaller, especially if one has over indulged in the delicious out that starts even menu. The wine list is interesting and reasonably priced. Overall it is great value for money. We will keep going back and recommend that anybody should try it out to see whether it excites them.

An exceptional restaurant with outstanding food. I recommend the meat lovers plate for two which you will not finish, however, they will pull the rest in a box for you to have the following day. Probably one of the best restaurants I have eaten at for some years. Top marks to the chef. Excellent local wine to accompany the dishes.

Super restaurant. Un cadre sympathique . Une cuisine à tomber par terre et franchement les tarifs sont très abordables. Vraiment je recommande fortement.
