Bidrage med feedbackIf you want to combine remote rustic charm with fantastic food (the best culinary experience ever! and a fascinating lifetime insight into one of France’s (although he’s Dutch very celebrated chefs then this is the place. Hans received instantaneous applause for a served dish that was both extraordinary and singularly unique. The hospitality offered by Hans and Tiny is pretty much unbeatable and alongside the special culinary experiences it’s a great location for everything in Luberon. It’s pretty much in the centre of the Luberon Lavender industry with a distillery down the lane where you can walk the fields or view the preparations in season. We could only stay 2 nights and had to leave to catch a flight but this is definitely a place with people that you will wish to return too. Thanks so much Hans and Tiny for the very special time – we will remember it with extreme fondness. X
Very friendly hosts, the house is in the middle of nature and absolutely quiet. The dinner served by Hans is fantastic and worthy of a top chef: best quality and full of sophistication. We enjoyed our stay.
In May Hans was concentrating on the young cabillaud which were in season and fished near Norway. He served the fish with local asparagus. We started with carpaccio of tuna, followed by Mediterranean fish soup. Grilled cheese in a wrap followed and finally the dessert. As usual the food was accompanied by local rose and red white ad lib. An aperitif and amuse bouches start the evening off well and the current price is 37.5 euros a head including the drinks. The traditional old room which is used for dining has a large stone fireplace with an enclosed fire which has always been lit on my visits, even during summer!
Hans was a Michelin starred chef in the Netherlands. Now with his wife Tiny they have moved to Provence where they have some gites, offer B&B and run a small friendly restaurant where you have to reserve. 37.50 euros per person buys a 5 course meal with wine and an aperitif. The food is always carefully prepared and uses seasonal regional specialities. You all eat round one large table in the main room of Hans and Tiny's old Provencal house. The meal begins with an enthusiastic welcome in English, French, Dutch or German from Hans and Tiny, and their dogs. After a local aperitif with delicious home made canapes in front of a huge stone fireplace the guests move to the table and enjoy a meal chosen by Hans to showcase the best of the local produce. On our last visit truffles featured. Thoroughly recommended if you want to enjoy well prepared Provencal food in an informal atmosphere. As Hans and Tiny do all the cooking themselves they need a day or two's warning in order to accept a booking and are limited for space, so plan ahead and be prepared to eat whatever Hans has decided is good on the night there is no choice and the wine which is included in the price is local.
Excellent kitchen provencale proposed by Hans and Tine. In a very pleasant environment where you eat with all guest often at the same table. It is always a surprise to discover new dishes of this quality. There is one menue for all.
