Bidrage med feedbackWe rushed to the museum to arrive in time for lunch...due to the reviews we read on Trip advisor several months earlier...upon arrival we discovered that the restaurant was under a new management and name!! Currently Le Table de Cesar.... We were promptly seated, and then had an extensive wait to place our order while those around us who had arrived after us, were given a carafe of water and several harried waiters took their orders!! are we invisible?? While we waited there was a group of 60 museum senior visitors who enterd, were seated and started to be served...possibly with a preplanned menu?? At that time the servie elsewhere in the restaurant froze...we waited for approximately another 20 minutes just to place our order!! We made an attempt to order one large pizza, which we had noticed at a table next to us, and were told that it could not be shared!!! even though it was an extremely huge proportion for one person, and plenty for two persons. The waiter insisted we had to order 2 separate main courses and could not share!!! We found this to be very disappointing, as we are senior citizens and 2 pizzas were way too much to be consumed!! After finally placing our order for 2 pizzas, and waiting for another 15 to 20 minutes they finally arrived...the crusts were micro thin, extremely tough and very hard to cut, and pre fabricated...the ingredients were very mediocre, the centers of the pizzas were mushy and wet, the price was high, and the quality was very disappointing!!! The new name and management did not live up to the prior restaurant's reviews!! with so many choices in the area, do find another place to dine! Evidently they are catering to the huge tourist crowds from the river cruise ships that are docked nearby.
Recommended by Ibis hotel on our recent stay. It was late when we arrived and the atmosphere and venue was great jazz band, overlooking Rhone). We tried to order in French, but were sent a waitress 'who spoke English '. We ordered and my partner chose cote de boeuf, probably a mistake In France, as he doesn 't do anything less than 'well done '. Orders taken and seemingly understood, we waited for our drinks. We waited and waited; they were just there, on the bar, and yet inspite of 5 or 6 staff wizzing by we had to ask,after 15 minutes,for them! Feeling like alcoholics by this time having seen them taken off serving tray several times and put back on) we were really getting hacked off and feeling alienated. That was nothing! When the meal arrived the huge joint of beef would feed our family of 6) had been flashed around the pan but was basically raw. We sent it back twice. It looked as if it had been kicked around the kitchen by a trainee World Cup side. Then when he said he couldn 't eat it we were told that chef had gone! We did not pay for it. We felt thoroughly uncomfortable, unwelcome and in our opinion, and understaning much of their conversation between staff, if we could not retort, felt as if they were taking the 'Micky '. So poor and uncomfortable.
Nice place to have lunch, food was good.
We were a group of 20 or more, had a selection of evening meals, none of which were bad but nothing special. Drinks like most restaurants were expensive. Food was served on cold plates, again quite normal for france.
The andouillettes was very good. Of course my favorite wine 'Chablis ' is there too. You can enjoy the food and see the Rhone River
