Le Pied Dans Le Plat - Saint-Père

I went to this restaurant the first night I was in Saint-Pere based on the recommendation from the hotel. I had such a good meal that I went back for the following 2 nights - not once was I disappointed. Great food and wine and excellent service. It was also the biggest portion of boeuf bourguignon that I've ever seen! (It came in a very generous serving bowl and when I looked a bit alarmed at the size, the young lady who was serving me laughed and said I didn't have to eat it all, just what I wanted). The family that runs this restaurant are just lovely and friendly and genuinely like to make sure their guests are happy. They even put up with my somewhat rusty French (they also speak English). I'd go back there anytime!

We had the opportunity to attend a local organic wine tasting event with all of the local winery's of the region. What a great experience, there were at least 20-25 winery's that were representing the region with the following wines: Pinot Noir, Chardonnays and Chablis. You basically pay $5 for a tasting glass and then you just walk around and taste the many wines. If there any wines that you enjoy you are able to purchase by the bottle. Since this is a local event, you will need to pay with cash. Overall , nice experience.

Nice food and great wines. Charming and relaxed after a day of walking in a very nice area. Loved the escargot and the duck!
