In the middle of a heatwave we chose this place as it was cooler in the sub pens. We had a salad and a beer which was just right

This is where the locals go for great food and very friendly service. A true gem. We've been twice 3 years apart and it's not changed. Plat du jour, desert, beer and coffee for €28. Perfect spot for lunch while the museums are closed for an hour. Arrive early to avoid the rush.

This brassiere is situated in one of the incredible Submarine pens in St Nazaire. To my husband it was like all his Christmases had come at once, not only was our hotel right opposite the submarine pens, but he could walk over and have lunch inside one of them !! It is very unusually situated, and you can sit either inside or out. I think inside may be a bit dark but outside in the glorious sun was lovely. I had a toasted cheese sandwich (just call me a cheap date) !! but I said to hubby push the boat out as several people had lobster. Ok maybe lobster as a quick snack for lunch is a little decadent but it was marvellous !! Even though it was very busy, it came in a jiffy and was large and apparently delicious. He had pomme frites and bread with it, and it was superb. So............one of the most unusual settings in the world, fast service and good food. Wonderful.
