La Fontaine - Saint-Martin-de-Brômes

We were pleasantly surprised by good food served in this restaurant. Delicious duck with blueberry sauce and dauphinoise potatoes, and tartlet with figs for dessert was divine...

After a long day out walking we were hungry as wolves, glad to sit in a cosy hotel, and have great service and food ! The barbecued ribs as well as the salmon are to be recommended. Friendly owners and good ambience.

My wife and I drove over to this restaurant today on the recommendation of our hotel manager. The interior of this restaurant is well appointed. The service was prompt and friendly. We each had salads and steak entrecote. I requested medium doneness and my wife rare. Both of our steaks were undercooked on the wood fire, but we ate them anyway because they were so good. French fries were undercooked and soggy.

A service of an extraordinary slowness, 1h15 for an entry and 1h more for the dish! servers that don't know the card, much too shy, which leads to a total forget of the politeness formulas during the service. a medium-quality cuisine for ordered dishes, rather good entries, disappointing dishes in taste, and mixed desserts... Was it maybe a bad evening.
