Bidrage med feedbackWe had Sunday lunch here on 7May. Soup, starter, main course, cheese, desert and a small carafe of wine for 14 euros. What's not to like. The food was simple but beautifully cooked. Lovely afternoon. Highly recommend this place.
Had five course Sunday lunch with friends. Wine also included. All cooked to perfection. Recommend. Thank you.
Took my mother here for lunch - this is the typical French working mans lunch restaurant which sadly only exist now in provincial France. At lunchtime, these offer copious amounts of home cooked food at an amazing value. For 14 euros a person we had a delicious vegetable soup, followed by a tuna and rice based starter and a copious dish of the day which today was beef bourguignon. This was followed by a selection of cheese from a help yourself board and a crème brûlée and included 1/4 litre of wine per person. The environment is calm, clean and correct. The service appropriate, and frankly what more do you want for 14 euros - not worth the effort of cooking it all at that price. There are also options so even for the smaller appetite or if you don't fancy the dish of the day, you can choose.Definitely recommend for a casual lunch.
Stopped here for lunch. They kindly accomodated us as we were late for a french lunch. Lovely food. Extremely reasonably priced. Great staff and lovely friendly chef. Would highly recommend
We went for lunch and chose to have the 14€ complet meal - 5 courses plus wine. The first course was a tasty pea soup, accompanied by homemade herby croutons.....superb! A tureen containing more than enough for two large bowls each. Next came a melon and Parma ham dish, with a nicely dressed side salad and fresh bread. The melon was beautifully ripe and tasty and there was a generous portion of ham too. The main dish was a large quarter of roast chicken on a bed of garlic mash with onion gravy. The chicken had been cooked very well and was tasty and tender. The mash was very well seasoned and just the right amount .The cheese board came next with 6 generous slabs of well chosen assorted cheeses, all of which were really tasty. The meal was finished off with a slice of chocolate torte and creme anglais with a fruit drizzle. My daughter is not keen on many desserts, so I asked if they had some vanilla ice cream instead, and they were very obliging in finding some for her, which was much appreciated. The red wine , included in the price, was also delicious and complemented the meal well. The service was superb; friendly and efficient. The meal represents astonishingly good value for money and I have yet to find somewhere in the Dordogne which provides better quality of food at such a competitive price. Definitely a must for anyone staying in the region.
