Joe-jo's Fish And Chicken - Saint Louis

The cat fillets were very rubbery in texture, and tough to chew. Of the four side dishes, the green beans had a metallic, canned taste; the greens were blandly seasoned (not much flavor at all); the spaghetti was in a very sweet tomato sauce base not quite reminiscent of a southern style spaghetti, if that is what someone is hoping for. The catfish nuggets were well prepared and had a very good texture and flavor. The chicken wings were a respectable size. The fried okra pieces were plump, with a nice golden batter and nice texture.

I ordered the shrimp jack salmon combo this past weekend on 7/22/2023. The Jack's were so small smelly. I didn't even know they had Jack's that small skinny. The shrimp has even got smaller, they were still tasty. They need to charge people for their food worth or go down on prices or give more when they know they food is too small for the price. Hope they get better.

This place is a gem. Joe-jo?s opened in May 2020 during a rough time for the food services industry, but yet here they are. For no thrills well cooked food that is locally owned, this is your stop. Friendly service as well! I recommend the wings with sweet hot sauce, it is not spicy at all, so if you want some kick ask for it!

Tried them for the 1st time today. Ordered jumbo shrimp, collard greens w/smoked Turkey, hush puppies (4). Also ordered their jack filet special which came with 2 filets and fries. The shrimp are definitely jumbo and not over battered. They were butterflied and delicious. The collards were typical, hush puppies were lacking and not worth getting. They were hard and dry. The jack and frieswere typical. This got a 4 star rating because it tasted as if everything including fries and collards had sugar in the seasoning. Which I do not like. I would visit them again to try other items.

I'm always on the hunt for some good fish and shrimp. Being ole school I had really missed Sara Lou,s however to find Joe Jo's on Google was the best search ever!! I had the jumbo shrimp, with catfish fillers and spaghetti. It was all so yummy. I'd like to show this place off on The Marketing With Mary Show because everyone I know will fall in love with their food. Fresh and Hot with great portions. Now I must try the chicken wings.
