Bidrage med feedbackWe stumbled upon this restaurant while we were in the area and hungry. I'm grateful that we did because we couldn't get enough of the food in this town. This place surpassed our expectations with its delicious and skillfully prepared dishes by a humble yet talented chef. I would even consider making the 1.5 hour trip from Montreal just to savor his cooking once more.
Saturday 29 April 2017 we tried this small family restaurant it was simply sublime, beautiful dishes well presented with local products, worthy of a great chef!

On the edge of Route 131 in St-Jean-de-Matha, we discover a nice restaurant located in the nature, by the water, in a house of nearly 200 years old. the dining room is located in the old summer kitchen with as a country setting a wood stove of the 1930s and a view of the round lake. on the back terrace, there are adirondacks to allow us to admire nature. the host table menu 3 or 5 services is listed on a great slate and changes according to the creative inspiration of the benoît hogue chef. The latter is the owner and also a teacher at the prettytte hotel school. the waitress explains the peculiarities of each dish offered. the tables are well erect and the service is impeccable. the chef prioritizes regional products: pintade top, lamb square, foie gras, duck, organic vegetables, cheeses, homemade desserts. we chose duck, cooked to point and veal rice, tasty. it's best to book because it's open only at the end of the week. the bill is quite high but it is a very pleasant gastronomic experience that we can share with friends or in love. It's a restaurant I highly recommend.
I love that I'm just a 5 min walk away from this place, I hate that I only think to come here on Mondays when they're not open (I always seem to
