Bidrage med feedbackGreat dim sum spot! There is a mashed steamed radish dish which is delicious, and a number of other dishes. Located near a T&T supermarket.
This Chinese New Year day, my family gathered at “Fortune City seafood restaurant” for dim sum. Having CNY day land on a Friday, and it not being a statutory holiday, meant the restaurant wasn’t as crowded, and they were offering their regular weekday dim sum special. Our extended family woke up earlier and and drove down at 10am to take advantage of this promotion. If you place your order and they input it into the computer before 11am, you get 20% off your entire meal. Once again, this special promo only runs from Monday to Friday: their slower dim sum mornings.
This is our families go to for birthdays, family visiting and dim sum restaurant. The portions are good for us but we don't like huge portions so you can order more dishes. The price for Dimsum say 8 dishes was about 50.00 with tip. For dinner we always love the Peking duck in 2 course with the pancakes and lettuce wrap. I love the egg tofu with braised sauce with broccoli and the sweet and sour pork or the plum sauce with pork chops are also winners. You have to try the shrimp paste on crab leg it's the best appetizer. Their appetizer plates are good as well. For a family of 6 dinner was about $130.00. They do give you the standard sweet red bean soup. If I had a choice I'd gladly pay for the Baked Tapioca Pudding dessert. Reservations a must for dinner as they are very popular. Free Parking is part of the T and T Supermarket Complex. The parking is tight cause no one has a small car anymore.
Unlike alot of reviews here, I cam here for dinner instead of for dim sum. Most of the dishes were mediocre. It would be a pretty standard restaurant except they lack in the cleanliness department. I had to ask to have a plate replaced because of bad dish washing. Also, the king crab we ordered seemed to be a bit overcooked. Other than that, everything was just decent, with nothing standing out, good or bad.
As most of my readers know, my mother is not a good cook. So whenever we go for dinner, it is definitely 'out '. If we ever have dinner 'at home ', it involves me taking food over. So this past week, we decided to head out for dinner and we opted for Peking Duck...and more...Take a look at the various condiments and see if you can guess what other traditional dish we had. Nothing beats Peking Duck to indicate 'Dinnertime '! I 'll hold back out of courtesy, but trust me, I 've got my eye on some crispy pieces. The skin had lots more meat on them than I 'm used to, but it was also less fatty than some other places. And of course, we have to get the Lettuce Wrap with the rest of the duck meat. This was good, but the crisps actually got soggy really fast. The dish was rather one note, but add your sauces and just enjoy the ride. We also got the Assorted StirFry with veggies...loaded with scallops, pork and chicken, this had something for everyone. The flavours were fairly mild, but actually just needed a sprinkling of white pepper to make the dish pop. The pork was a little dry but the variety of the meats and seafood easily made up for it.
