Everything about this place is amazing. The hosts were so helpful and their attention to detail is impeccable. I need to visit the area again very soon and I will 100% be booking here again. What a stunning place and what lovely people.

The hotel is located in a castle. It is a beautiful, authentic castle. The owners have preserved the character of the castle but also provided the necessary comfort. The hostess and host are very friendly and helpful. They make you feel 100% welcome. A swimming pool has also recently been installed, great for cooling off. In the evening there is the possibility to dine on site, which was nice.

My husband and I stayed at Chateau des Salles for a couple of nights. Sylvie was a wonderful host, making sure we had all the drinks and food we needed. We ate at the Chateau both evenings and had great food, even opting for the extra cheese both times. The room was spacious and airy with a very large comfortable bed. The pool area was also great and relaxing with the sound of the bamboo. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chateau des Salles for those looking for a relaxing holiday where you can truly unwind. We have had dinner here many times, whenever we come to the area on holiday. The menu is always delightful and different; the chef very good; usually two starters, two plats and two desserts to choose from. Reasonable price for an elegant dinner in a Chateau. The Chateau is 15th century but much of it restored by the owners, Sylvia and Jean-Jacques. It has been in the family since the 1990s. They are a lovely couple, very helpful and friendly. Saint Fort is a small village halfway between La Rochelle and Bordeaux, surrounded by vineyards and not far from a small port. Highly recommended. Service: 5 Location: 5
