Pleasant owner and staff. Their outdoor courtyard is lovely. Food is simple and tasty. Good value for money.

LAURANCE the patron is just lovely I have just lost my wife to cancer and had a strokebecause I still cannot use my left hand my food is always cut up for me She is always smiling and because I sometimes feel depressed come out of there happy.The dish of the day is very good value and always well cooked tasty and hot English people need to remember this is a french restaurant catering for people coming for there dinner from work who just want plain food cooked well there is no where better than the tilleuls a very good meal for the price. You wont find better.

We dropped in here for lunch while passing through. We ordered off of what we thought was the 11€ menu. We ate our steak and chips and chose our sweet. When it came to the bill it was 35€. On questioning this we were told that we had been given the normal menu and received larger steaks hence the price. Please be aware of this fact if you choose to dine here as you can get 4 courses including wine for 13€ each! The food itself is on a par with any of the truckstops but the truckstops are not pretending to be a proper restaurant.

We called in here for coffee on our way to Ruffec. The lady who served us was very friendly and the coffee was good. Just what we needed.

Perhaps we chose the wrong night to go here, it seemed to be Brit night, all the patrons that were eating were English, I can get that up the local harvester !You have to walk in through the bar past the pool table which was crowded and very unwelcoming, the staff are pleasant and helpful, however as my title states, that's where it ends, the wine was the worst we tasted in our week of touring the area, the food was basic, courgettes were appalling soaked in water and no taste what so ever.Did not enjoy our meal one bit, as the steaks were average and like the courgettes lacking taste, the chees board was 3 bits of cheese with rock hard bread.It may have been an off night as the other reviews are all good, but we can only write our own experiences.
