Burgers -n- Bbq Grill - Saint Charles

The first thing you notice is the haze in the air from the kitchen. The smell accompanies the sight. We decided to give this place a try in our hometown after it had been open for several months. We heard that it was pledged with the opening blues mostly centered around the haze and the service. We were greeted by the waitress and she was very pleasant and was quick to get our drinks and take our order. The menu is extensive so you will certainly find what you are looking for! My wife is on a low carb diet and there was plenty to choose from the menu. The meat platters had several meats to choose from and you could add a small rack of ribs to any platter. I choose the pulled pork and chicken with the rack of ribs. All platter come with two sides. I went with the mac and cheese with fries. Wife had the side salad and daughter order the beans. Daughter also selected the brisket as her second meat. The order was filled in a reasonable BBQ place fashion, still under the 15-20 minute limit I have set for reviewing purposes. The food was all served hot! My mac and cheese was very good. Served with riccioli (I think that is what she said? noodles with a touch of queso. Certainly different in a good kind of way! The steak fries tasted good and they were hot on all of our plates! The pulled chicken was more like chopped chicken and it was dry. Most likely warmed on the grill. The pulled pork however was moist with good flavor. The ribs were certainly done right as the meat (and fat fell from the bone. One reason for the lower rating was the beef quality...a more leaner rib would have been much better. The three homemade BBQ sauces were all great! One for every taste, spicy, plain and honey. I used two of them, the honey was a touch to sweet for my liking and I prefer sweet BBQ. Daughter said the brisket was average taste and my grandson order the pulled pork sandwich. Looked good and he said it tasted good. Large quantity for a kids menu item. Speaking of portions, they were right on for the price. I certainly didn 't go away hungry. Price was right in line for a BBQ place. The place was clean but over coming the smoky haze was difficult. The longer we stayed the thicker it got. This place can easily become a 4-5 star place with a few minor adjustments! I would certainly give it a second try, but if its still smokey I may elect takeout.

BRISKET TACOS WERE AWESOME!COUPLE I WAS WITH HAD CHEESEBURGERS AND SAID THEY WERE VERY GOOD.
