Michael's Tasting Room

Nestled in a quiet corner of downtown St. Augustine lies a true gem. Michael's offers an intimate dining experience favored by many locals. While the prices may not be for the faint of heart, the food is absolutely worth it. The menu may not be extensive, but the wine selection is impressive. We enjoyed a wonderful Spanish wine paired with a beautifully cooked porterhouse steak, medium rare and cooked to perfection. The potatoes were simple yet flavorful, and the house salad was the ideal portion, dressed with a light and non-vinegary homemade dressing. As an appetizer, the charcuterie board was delightful, bursting with various flavors to explore. We ended our meal with bananas foster, although I can't help but wish I had tried the chocolate tart instead. A champagne toast to kick off the meal added a lovely touch to the evening. Michael's is perfect for a special date night with someone you cherish.

This dinner was an amazing experience. Everything we order was a delightful nothing disappointed. We went as a family but is such a romantic atmosphere that Ill come back but just with my husband.. Our server was Amy she was such a sweetheart, was great talking to her about our root and our beautiful Puerto Rico, and to know that the owner was raised in PR and that the fusion of his flavors in each dish as that Puertorican Flavor was the cherry on the top.

Saying that this place is good is not justice enough. We eat here by luck. We were just walking down the street, and we saw the place how cute it was, and that it was a steak house. So we decided to go in without checking any reviews. The first thing that impacted us was how attentive and nice the host was. She went above and beyond to get us a table ready. We were seated in the patio because we were dinning with out big dog. Then the server was super attentive, and knowledgeable. He explained everything to perfect, and made some really good recommendations. Now, for the most important thing. The food was out of this world. What amazing taste. We had the Montaditos, and a goat cheese for appetizers. For the main event we had a Ribeye and a Filet Mignon. Both were cooked to perfection and amazing taste. I did something that I haven’t done before. I saved this place as favorite in Google Maps, so if I ever come back, I remember to visit them again.

Everything was very high quality. Tasted amazing. All of the staff members were very personable and inviting. Great wine selection. Would definitely recommend this as a fine dinning option in St. Augustine. Definitely want to come back in the future.

Arguably one of the best meals I've ever had! The service was impeccable, and the variety in the chef's tasting menu pleasantly surprised us with each new course. Having the chef personally present each dish was a delightful surprise! Her background in culinary and art was evident in every plate. The wine pairings were perfect as well. It was pricey, but absolutely worth it.
