Bidrage med feedbackI came to LJ, because a friend said they serve Hoang Tao Yee Foo won ton, a popular dish in SF but no Sac restaurants. Got it 5-6 times as take out ...very good! In SF $12 LJ $16.Surprise no one reviewed this off menu dish??
I was actually here for a wedding, so the fact that they have a banquet hall for such events is already a step above most restaurants. There was more than enough food to eat, all of it absolutely worth taking home for leftovers, and the decor is classy without being overly formal. As an added bonus, the staff there was even able to patch my belt together after it snapped trying to hold my pants on to the planetary orbit that is my waistline. And they did so at no charge to me! If that's not going above and beyond the standard of customer service, I really don't know what is.
The food was okay. i recommend getting the orange chiceken that was lowkey firee??
The dishes that we ordered were exceedingly mediocre. We were there at the same time as the wedding banquet which is odd because the review from the wedding banquet stated the food was extraordinary.Unfortunately that was not the case for us. All the food we got was very bland, seasoning was watery, and the meats were overcooked. It could have used way more oyster sauce and salt in the seasoning.Fish was tough and chewy, shrimp was a bit on the firm side and not really 'honey walnut ', the fish and tofu dishes were bland and watery, veggies were either too soft or cooked unevenly, and the ribs were way overcooked and very salty. Not sure if it was because staff was stretched thin due to the two events happening at the same time but this is the second time I 've been here and the food was about the same.Definitely could have been a fluke twice in a row but I don 't recommend here if you want consistent Chinese food. Check out Far East Cafe or T Kee instead.
We had lunch at Lucky Jade on a weekday, arriving a little after 11:00 AM. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered a combo of dim sum dishes and beef Chow Mein, Hong Kong style. Our food didn't arrive until 30 minutes later and several dishes didn't come out for almost an hour. The dim sum dishes didn't have any flavor, just oily. The chow mein was good. We've had take out from Lucky Jade, usually American style Chinese food, which is normally pretty good. The dim sum was horrible, maybe just give up the dim sum.
