Midway Classic Malt Shop - S San Diego

Within a few seconds of walking in you are greeted to the Malt Shop. Menu is simple but plentiful. As your order is taken you are asked your name and when done you are given a total with the nice gesture of them of taking the time to remember your name. Kind of make you a feel like regular. I got a regular burger with “Frings” fries and onion rings. If you’d like any kind of dice take the time to ask for it to be put on the burger. This burger was perfect was perfect for me since it had pickles onion lettuce I added ketchup.When my order was ready and offered some house ranch, try it definitely worth mentioning. The small place was full and every table was taken. No worries there is plenty counter chairs available. The service is top notch. It is not overwhelming but you definitely are aware you can ask and you will be accommodated.

We had such a wonderful time at Midway Classic Malt Shop! We found this little hole in the wall spot on Yelp and are so happy that we stopped by. The employees are so personable and truly go above and beyond to ensure an excellent dining experience! We ordered salads, burgers, and malts, and everything was so tasty!

Every single food i’ve had here SLAPS and the shop is such a fun vibe. they also have hands down the best service i’ve ever experienced at a restaurant (all 5 times i’ve been! — they really know how to make customers feel welcome and cared for.the zucchini sticks, fries, and onion rings are always perfectly crispy and never greasy. their ranch? next level. chili dogs? HUGE and well dressed.i always get a scoop of ice cream because how could you ignore the ice cream counter up front?? and they always ask me if i want it now or later which yes, a fat scoop or shake is the perfect appetizer ?i haven’t even tried their burgers yet because i’m too obsessed with everything else on the menu and my tummy is only so big. The place was a favorite from the word go. Such a hidden gem. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The owner and staff were super helpful and so kind not only to me but to everyone. You can tell they really love their customers! I got a custom shake that was Amazing! It tasted just like a Girl Scout cookie. I ordered the Caliente Burger with 1/2 fries, 1/2 onion rings, so so good, but the homemade chipotle sauce and ranch were Awesome! My daughter ordered the Western and it came with 3 large onion rings!! This has been the friendliest and most surprising experience so far in San Diego!! Highly Recommend!!
