Bidrage med feedbackTook a co-worker here for his first Pho experience and he loved it. We went wester simple PHO BBQ beef pho with rice. I know it is ant true Pho some times you have to do baby steps. I have been here a half dozen times over the last two years and never more than tables are full so it total feals like mom Dad are cooking for you. There is a flow of take-out orders leaving the restaurant. Lunch cost 30 for to Pho and two limeaid.
This is the old Cali Baguette location. This place appears to specialize in Viet cuisine soups. You won't find Pho here though. The street sign reeled me in since they have Vietnamese won ton soup here, so I wanted to give it a try.The restaurant is clean, with plenty of tables more so tables that can seat small groups which is nice. The back wall is lined with refrigeratorsvwith different beverages, chilled food and desserts you can order for there, or to go. On the right wall you'll find a pretty straightforward menu with the base dishes. Note that they do have additional items on their paper printed menu. The ordering situation was different and not sure if this is normal, or just in this case. We ordered at the register, then sat down. Then our waters and napkin basket was dropped off at our table. Food was dropped off to our table as well.We were there for the Mi Hoanh Thanh, a wonton egg noodle soup. Good size portion for $8, 4 large pork/shrimp filled wontons, few slices of flavorful charsiu pork, egg noodles, pork rinds, dried onion, slice of lettuce, and scallions. The broth was a little light in flavor and just lacking some boldness. All the other ingredients we're great. I will come back and try other dishes!
They have a delicious bowl of noodle and dumpling soup, with incredibly flavorful broth, and an optional small bowl of sliced garlic and pickled peppers. And if you like the broth, they sell containers of beef and chicken broth for an incredible $1.50. I bought two and made more dumpling soup at home for dinner. There's also a tasty bowl of rice noodles and pork+mushroom meatball soup with a similar great broth. i'm not a big fan of bone-in meat pieces, but if you are, you might like the several finger-length pieces of fatty pork with rib bones that accompany the other ingredients.
This is our hidden gem. If thry have the mango squid salad definitely get it but they dont always have it that day... Their bbq pork riblets are soooo good and you can buy it by the pound to take home. Its definitely a mom pop restaurant
This place is known for Vietnamese/ Chinese soup cuisine. Today we tried the Wonton noodle soup. It had a great fresh broth with fresh pork and shrimp wontons and egg noodles on the bottom of the bowl. There was scallions, herbs, and sliced marinated pork on top. It was $8. The portion was good and the flavor was perfect. It was a clear broth with little to no grease. The hint is sesame oil was a very nice touch. Soups are ready in a couple minutes. The pork was very tender and not fatty. The steamed Bok Choi in the soup was yummy. We loved all of it. On cold days, come here for some good wonton soup. It's great comfort food for the soul.
